MEN'S FOOTBALL CLUB have played their first three matches in Division Five of the Sunday Combination League.
They lost the first and second matches against the Rose and Crown Reserves and Wye Rangers but won 3-1 against Snooker Leisure Reserves. They are holding a race night on Friday, October 7, 8pm, at the Crick. Tickets are £5 including a ploughman's. The proceeds will go to all the Football Clubs.
Could you be a football referee? The team, like many of the 70 local teams in the Combination League, needs referees, who are paid £25 per session. Training can be given. If this strikes a chord with you, contact 01494 564141.
Tony Barlow has done much to get the men's team going again by getting sponsors, when he becomes the Red Devil in costume in the Wycombe Half Marathon, always number 666, and in the recent Great North Run, and with the Great South Run coming soon. So the football enthusiasm has been rekindled in Naphill. All ex-youth team members who are of senior age would be welcome.
