DON'T FORGET to popin to the Methodist Church on Monday morning between 9.30am and midday for coffee, biscuits and friendship, especially if you are in the LEAOPAG age group (you will know if you are!) AFTERNOON WI meeting on Tuesday afternoon in the village hall is on the "Story of Diamonds". Visitors are most welcome and should enjoy the talk, a chat and a cuppa.

ON THURSDAY Peter Philp will be giving a talk entitled "The Harvest 60 years ago" for LEAOPAG, (Lane End Area Older Person's Action Group) at the October meeting. Meetings start at 1pm with a light lunch served in the Youth and Community Centre in Edmonds Road. If you enjoy this, you can repeat the occasion each month.

NEXT CHARITY GROUP jumble sale is to raise funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and will be held next Saturday in the village hall. Please take donations to the back of the hall at midday before the sale, or phone 01494 882902 or 01494 881853 to arrange collection. This is the last sale of the current series and over £2,000 has been donated to local charities this year.

THERE IS ANOTHER drop-in occasion each week in the village, this time in the Youth and Community Centre on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month between midday and 2pm. Home-made soup and free internet access will be available as well as some friendly faces. The centre organisers are hoping to start an Army Cadet Force from half-term, all being well.
