ANNUAL FEAST SERVICE was conducted by the Rev Carol Murray, Baptist Minister standing on Pettigrove's carousel. She thanked Mrs Pettigrove and family for the use of the carousel and welcomed all the fair people to the service which was also attended by a large number of Haddenham people. David Quinn played the keyboard and readings were given by Jenny Bullimore and John Wheeler while Rita Langton led prayers. A collection was taken for the Thursday Club for the elderly and Rev Murray appealed for drivers - just go along and talk to Linda Bamford if you can help.

PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, Angela Hart, addressed a capacity audience in the Mabel Parkinson Room on Monday regarding an outline planning application for 47 units on the Spicer Hallfield (brownfield) site. This was chaired by David Truesdale, chairman of the council's planning committee. The architect, David Parker and Eric Gadsden from developers W E Black were present and spoke about the plans and reasons for the change to housing from industrial use. Plans and artists impressions were available. The proposals are for smaller units, social and affordable housing, none more than two storeys in height. Two car parking spaces are to be allowed for each house with 1 for flats. Both speakers answered questions on vehicle access, sewage, privacy for existing housing, density and the retention of village character. The possibility of a footpath from Stockwell through the site was also considered. Comments must be with the AVDC by tomorrow.

TOMORROW 9am to 11.30am at the parish office the allotment rents will be collected. Rents have not been increased for five years but will be raised next year. Now standing at £7.50 for five poles to £20 for 20 poles.
