OVER THE YEAR the Local Heritage Initiative have been encouraging photographers to snap anywhere across Colne Valley Park at Black Park, Langley Park or Denham with some very attractive prizes on offer for the winners. There are three age categories, under nine years, ten to 16 years and adult.

The competition was split into seasons and entries close for the final one, devoted to summer, at the end this week. A maximum of two snapshots per person will be allowed.

Colne Valley Park is the first green area west of London, often used by film makers. Snapshots can be handed in at Black Park or the Colne Valley Visitor centre and Denham or sent by post to Snapshot Competition, Colne Valley Park Visitors Centre, Denham Court Drive, Denham, Uxbridge, UB9 5PG.

A CHAIRPERSON is needed to represent people with disabilities in the South Bucks and Chilterns area. The volunteer would lead the executive committee at its monthly meetings to promote access and mobility in the area. If you can help, do contact Voluntary Action on 01494 793470.

SO SUCCESSFUL have the Sunday blood donors clinics become, that another is to go ahead at the Memorial Centre this Sunday. It goes on throughout day so if you would like to help save a life, do pop along.

NETWORKING, the number one key to job search success, is the theme of Monday's Career Springboard meeting at St Andrews Church hall in Packhorse Road. Stephen Ostercamp is both chairing and speaking at the gathering, which is at 7.15pm. The self help group aids managers and professionals seeking work.

COFFEE MORNING in aid of Christian Aid is being held at the Methodist Church in Oak End Way tomorrow between 10am and midday.

CAMERA CLUB hosts Oxford Photographic Society in an inter-club competition on Wednesday evening at the Memorial Centre. Paul Keene FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB will judge the contest with each club putting in 25 slides.

LITTLE FISHES Harvest Celebration, a pre-school service, takes place at St James Church in Fulmer on Wednesday at 2pm.

NEW COURSES, The History of London and Talking Turner form part of the latest WEA sessions being held at the Memorial Centre, starting next week. John Oliver fronts the History of London which traces the progress of the capital throughout the centuries and which begins on Monday at 10am. Also on Monday is part one of Novels to Remember with Elizabeth Richardson taking charge from 2-3.30pm.

An exploration of Turner's life and paintings, is being introduced by Dean Hines over seven meetings starting on Thursday at 2pm. The fourth class is another Creative Writing session, with part one of the practical workshop getting underway next Friday at 10am.
