OLD PEOPLE'S Welfare Committee (Age Concern) hold their Autumn Coffee M orning tomorrow from 10am to midday at the Free Methodist Church Hall in Shepherds Lane. There are usually some wonderful bargains to be had at this event where there are tables with cakes and home-made produce, bric-a-brac, groceries, tombolas and raffles. Not a morning to miss.

AT THE same time but starting at 10.30am is the Missionary Coffee Morning at the URC in Aylesbury End ON SUNDAY you are welcome to join in a two-hour walk with the St Michaels Miles Group who meet at the church at 1.30pm for directions and car sharing.

NEW EDITION of Rhyme and Reason will be launched on Monday at a wine tasting evening in the Fitzwilliams Centre. This is organised by the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and starts at 8pm. Tickets are £5 each or £30 for a table of up to eight persons, and that includes the cost of three champagnes, six white and six red wines plus nibbles; and, in addition, copies of the new book will be available at a discount price. ROYAL BRITISH LEGION Women's Section hold their 69th AGM on Tuesday at the RBL Hall. As usual books, cards and bring and buy are at all meetings.

COFFEE MORNING will be held at Three Gables in Station Road on Wednesday from 10.30am with a cake stall, cards (including Christmas ones) and a raffle. This will be the last coffee morning of the year as the Christmas Bazaar will take place in early November, so keep your eyes open for more details as there will be some wonderful items on sale, plus cakes, tombola and more.

NATIONAL TRUST members will be visiting the Poppy Factory on Thursday and learn how the workers, many disabled, make two million poppies each year. Wreaths will also be on display. Members will also visit Marble Hill House.

WEA have another course starting on Wednesday at the URC Hall in Aylesbury End. This will be An American Journey; Literature in the 1920s and 1930s by Helen Angel for ten morning meetings. Details from Pat Byrne on 01494 725746, but do not delay.
