THE Environment Centre's Volunteering for the Environment Exhibition is looking for helpers to take part in their upcoming projects in Buckinghamshire.

The two-week exhibition at the centre, in Holywell Mead, High Wycombe, came to an end on Sunday but the centre is still looking for volunteers.

The exhibition had stands from several conservation groups including the Buckinghamshire Badger Group, the British Trust For Conservation and Volunteers, the Downley Common and Woods Protection Society and Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Ox-fordshire Wildlife Trusts, amongst many others.

The exhibition was opened by Wycombe Mayor Cllr Liaquat Ali and Deputy Mayor Clare Martins gave a speech on the value of volunteers.

"We've held the exhibition because it's a good opportunity to find out what we do and to ask for people to consider becoming volunteers," said Frances Alexander, a Trustee of the Environment Centre.

The centre, which opened in 2002, is itself environmentally friendly and is built from Permacell, which is made from recycled waste paper.
