Theatre in the Villages swings into Bucks again bringing professional perfomers and high quality productions into village halls, schools, and community centres all over the county for the next four months.
Highlights include international performers, Maori storyteller Rangimaona Taylor and Samoan poet Rosanna Raymond. They will be demonstrating and relating traditional cultural stories from Polynesia, and also modern myths and urban legends (October 11 and 12).
Following their success with Pass the Port last year, Michael Lunts and Susan Flannery return with another musical jaunt through Middle England. More Tea Vicar is an evening through the eyes of and poetry of John Betjeman, with songs and satire from Noel Coward, Joyce Grenfell, Noel Gay and Ivor Novello (October 17 to 20).
The Forest Forge Theatre company is back this year with a tale of love, comedy and music. At The Hop combines romance, laughter and rock and roll in a story about a family, set over two generations against the setting of the summer exodus to countryside pick hops.
Other shows include For One Night Only, (October 10 to 14). Or there is a magical performance of Nobody Rides the Unicorn by Puppetcraft, based on the book by Adrian and Sasha Mitchell (November 23 to 26).
Aylesbury Vale, Chiltern Hills, South Bucks and Wycombe District Councils all contribute to allow the annual event to go ahead.
Theatre in the Villages runs from September 28 to December 9 in villages all over Bucks. Tickets and leaflets available from libraries, council office of village venues or call 01494 670341.
