CROWDS of revellers streamed into Higginson Park last Saturday for the annual Marlow Carnival.
The event, which is organised by Marlow Community Association, boasted many charity stalls, live music from three different bands including sea cadets, Chesham All Girls Band and a jazz group and a classic car display.
Tea and cakes were provided by volunteers from Marlow Girl Guide Centre, in Quarry Wood Road.
Community association chairman Roger Wilson said: "It was a lovely late summer's day.
"Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves despite the noticeable absence of the procession."
"We are going to have to give serious consideration as to how we are going to get that going again.
"Last year we raised about £1,800 but it bucketed down. I think there were probably more people this year so we hope to have raised considerably more."
Cllr Wilson, who is also the town mayor, added: "Popmobility was a hit for the younger kids and it went down a real treat."
The traditional procession was missing this year after new road regulations meant the association had to fork out around £1,000 on signs if it wanted to stage it.
