The "Comment" on page ten of last week's BFP, about work on Handy Cross must have amused many readers, who probably thought the same as I did when I read it.
Quote; "Let's hope the crews will be working hard to get the job done as quickly as possible, with the least amount of cones and temporary traffic lights."
Since when has anyone seen roadwork crews working flat out, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to finish a job?
If your writer is serious in his commenting, then let's us all hope that those empowered with the managing of this project do take the opportunity of working all hours, thus saving many people continued traffic hell during the improvements.
If they did, then I for one would not object to the crews receiving a well deserved bonus, providing the work was finsihed on time or earlier.
