PEOPLE living in Little Missenden say they have been left isolated after their only bus service to High Wycombe was suddenly stopped.
It originally ran five times per day but was cut two weeks ago. Residents say they were given the news by their local bus driver.
Robin Smith, of Hare Lane, Little Missenden, thinks the loss of the service has left pensioners and children stranded.
He said: "I think it's disgusting. My friend down the road doesn't drive, she has to rely on everyone else to take her into town to do her food shopping. It takes away her independence."
Steve Burns, the managing director of bus company Carousel, which ran the service, said the cuts are down to Buckinghamshire County Council, not his company.
A spokesman for Bucks County Council said: "When it was running there had been an average of one person in the evening using it and seven people during the day. It was a subsidised route run by the county council."
However the service fell below the £3 per passenger subsidy level set by the county council.
The spokesman said: "The service was running at £10 to £15 per passenger. This is well over amount set. There is still a school bus running from Little Missenden and a bus on a Tuesday and Friday to Wycombe on market days."
