THE religious heritage of the Chiltern District, and the county as a whole, will be accessible for enthusiasts this autumn.
During October and November, places of worship, including St Mary's Church in Church Street, Chesham, will open their doors to visitors who want to explore different types of religion.
Other locations opening for interested people include the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in London Road, High Wycombe, and Soka Gakkai International UK, a Buddhist community, in Taplow Court.
Buckinghamshire's historic environment champion, Cllr Richard Pushman, said: "These events will allow the people of Bucks access to religious buildings that are not often open to the public and a diverse religious heritage that is one of the characteristics of Buckinghamshire's past and present."
There will also be many talks by archaeologists on ancient places of worship. Kaveh Bakhtiar, will be giving a talk on the history of mosques in Britain at Chesham Mosque, in Bellingdon Road, and another expert will talk about Roman temples at Wycombe Museum, in Priory Avenue, High Wycombe, on Wednesday, November 9.
There will be a celebration of Black, Asian and Chinese achievements in history at the Elgiva Theatre, St Mary's Way, Chesham, on Friday, November 4.
