A RADIO station presented by youngsters is getting ready to hit the airwaves once again.
Blink FM, organised by Wycombe Youth Action and Millennium volunteers, will be broadcasting from Wycombe across the county for 26 days after relaunching on Sunday, July 31.
The station, now in its fourth year, will be presenting popular music shows with input from youngsters across the area.
Sally McIlhone, one of the programme controllers, said the scheme was set up to help youngsters gain a Millennium Volunteers certificate.
She said: "Young people who tot up 200 hours of voluntary work are given the certificate. It looks really good on their UCAS applications and on their CV and shows they can give something back to the community."
The station is on air 24-hours-a-day, with special pre-recorded shows played from 11pm until 7am the next day.
This means that even those with awkward working hours or other commitments can come in during their spare time and record something for broadcast.
The radio station is still looking for contributors who would like to get involved in radio production.
