THAMES Valley Police have been out in force around railway stations and the community at large in an attempt to help deter terrorist attacks a week after the botched bomb attacks in London.
In a statement on Thursday, Thames Valley Police said they were carrying out operations and patrols around Bucks and other areas to assist the Metropolitan Police with their terrorism inquiries.
A train was stopped on the outskirts of Aylesbury station on Thursday by police after a man was reported acting suspiciously.
The man had travelled from Banbury, where staff there spotted him and told authorities. They escorted him off the train and the station was condoned off and closed, while he was searched.
The man was said to be compliant with officers' instructions and nothing was found. Normal service resumed at 1.45pm.
A police statement said: "Increased numbers of officers are carrying out high-visibility patrols across the force."
