TRAFFIC-calming measures are urgently needed on Bisham roads to avoid further accidents, residents have said at a meeting.
At a meeting of Bisham Parish Council on Tuesday, July 19, residents were asked for their thoughts from lead member for traffic and transport at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Antony Wood.
Cllr Wood came to the meeting with a proposal of measures to improve road safety, but firstly asked residents for their thoughts.
John Orr, a resident, said too many cars were speeding through Bisham and that traffic calming measures were needed as vehicles came into the village - instead of just being applied elsewhere.
He said: "A proposal should be to slow the traffic down as they come in.
"There is calming near the roundabout but there is none on entry. They just seem to ignore the signs"
One mother, who did not wish to be named, said a car had ended up outside her home following an accident.
Residents also claimed there had been two deaths in car accidents in past years in the village.
Cllr Wood handed the parish proposals costing around £2,300 despite Bisham only being able to spend up to £1,600.
But Cllr Wood urged councillors to apply for some of the schemes that met their £1,600 budget, and then apply for more expensive ones in the next financial year.
The majority of the proposals put forward are for signs and road markings.
