A CROSS-COUNTY police chase ended in Beaconsfield when the driver lost control of his car and crashed in the early hours of the morning.
People living in Fernhurst Close were woken up when they heard police officers gathering in the area.
One resident said she was disturbed by loud noise and was very shocked to see several police cars, with their lights flashing, close to her home.
A police pursuit began at around 2.05am on Sunday, July 17, after a driver allegedly refused to stop his vehicle, a blue Toyota Carina, when officers wanted him to pull over in Aylesbury Road, Wendover.
The car was chased along the Wendover Bypass, along the A413 and into Great Missenden.
The pursuit continued as the Toyota returned onto the A413 and travelled into old Amersham, and at the Tesco roundabout it turned right up Gore Hill and towards Beaconsfield.
As the chase got closer to the town, the officer involved in the pursuit then lost sight of the vehicle, at around 2.20am. But a search revealed a Toyota in Ronald Road, Beaconsfield, where it had crashed.
A police spokesman said that when officers reached the scene a man and a woman were still seated in the vehicle. The spokesman added: "The man was uninjured while the woman was complaining of chest pain."
The back gates to Davenies school were damaged in the crash.
Any witnesses should call Thames Valley Police on 08458 505 505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
