POLICE are hunting a man in connection with a serious sexual assault on a 21-year-old woman.
The assault took place during the afternoon of Thursday, July 21, as the woman was walking along Lane End High Street.
She was approached from behind and dragged into nearby bushes by a man, who then sexually assaulted her.
Police are now hoping someone will recognise a e-fit.
Det Con Liz Scurlock said: "I appeal to anyone who recognises this man to contact police immediately.
"The woman managed to stop the man who attacked, but she has obviously been left very shaken and upset by the incident. Anyone who saw a man of this description hanging around that afternoon in the area of Lane End High Street or the alleyway that leads to the park on Simmons Way, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to get in touch."
The man is described as being white, very pale and skinny. He is 5ft 5ins, in his mid twenties, with light mousy, almost blond, collar-length hair. He was slightly unshaven and had a small nose and big eyes.
Anyone with information should call Det Con Scurlock on 0845 8 505 505, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
