THOMAS BALL Children's Cancer Fund have purchased a second holiday home on the coast in New Milton, Hampshire for child cancer sufferers and their families to take much needed breaks away from painful hospital treatments and it is already fully booked right through until September.
Jamess parent are delighted the new lodge will be known as "TJ's" in memory of Thomas James Ball. Having two properties to maintain will cost the charity approximately £8,000 each year so the money raised from the 24 hour Sponsored Bounce last week in memory of Thomas will be a good start but fundraising will have to be stepped up with even more events being planned over the next two years. This will ensure that in addition to running the holiday homes the charity has enough funding to carry out its other objectives, which are raising awareness of childhood cancer and funding research into neuroblastoma.
The charity is also planning to take a coach of sick children and their families to Euro Disney in Paris this Christmas.
The next fundraising event will be a garden party on August 14.
HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES for children at Bucks County libraries include the Reading Voyage. All you need to do is fill in the application form at the library and you will be given a pack of quizzes, puzzles and a folder with lots of fun ideas on how you can take part over the holidays.
