ONE of the most popular horticultural events in the area, the Stoke Poges, Wexham and Fulmer Flower Show, is scheduled for tomorrow and will be attracting the best from local gardeners. There are competitive classes for fruit, flowers, arts and crafts, photography and home economics, both for adults and children. It starts at 1.30pm at Teikyo School in Fulmer and admission is £1.50 with discounts for senior citizens and children. There is live music and a classic car display to add to the afternoon's enjoyment.

A FEW TICKETS remain for the Painter's Evening being staged to support the local Abbeyfield Society. Tim Harvey and Terry Harrison will be giving creative demonstrations at the golf club on Thursday, August 11 at 7pm and Julia Dutton has tickets for sale at £25, which include a fork supper and a glass of wine on arrival. COLOURFUL booklet about new adult learning, covering the period from September into 2006, is now available from the Memorial Centre, the Station Road library and other key outlets. A vast learning programme is laid out, including family fun, a choice of 16 languages, computer skills, interior design and car maintenance. Throughout the local area there is a course to suit everyone who wishes to continue the learning curve.

DENHAM COUNTRY PARK is the venue for a host of family events today and tomorrow. From 10.30am until 4.40pm children's activities include pond dipping, art workshops and wildlife walks, while the family can indulge in a canal boat trip. There is also a farmers' market tomorrow.

FULMER, with its population under 500, finished in the runners-up spot behind Weston Underwood for the Gurney Cup in the Bucks Best Kept Village contest.
