VILLAGERS will be sad to hear of the death of Philip Capps, chairman of the parish council from 1991 to 1996.

FOOTBALL and the 1st XI play another friendly tomorrow at home against Hampton & Richmond, kick off at 3pm. Next Thursday they are again at home to Burnham at 7.30pm.

Older Flackwell Heath Minors players are putting something back into the game by taking referee courses and exams. Matthew Bristow, aged 24, who is now based in Manchester, has been appointed referee for an extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on August 20 between Blackpool Mechanics and Newcastle Blue Star. Matthew has recently been promoted and will act as assistant referee for Football Conference matches.
