FRIENDS of St Giles library are looking forward to their annual barbecue which takes place on Saturday, August 20 in the Reading Room. Tickets are £7.50 from the library and you should take your own crockery and drinks.

JAZZ on Sunday at Merlin's Cave welcomes the famous son of a famous father. Ben Castle on tenor sax takes a few hours out from accompanying Jamie Cullum. Geoff Eales on piano can usually be found accompanying Michael Ball. Bobby Orr on drums is a regular with the Miller Big Band. Pete Hughes is the resident on bass at the back.
NO SMOKING is now the rule throughout the Community Centre in St Peter. Everyone is asked to keep to this.
DOG OWNERS who walk through the allotment in St Peter are being asked to restrict their pets to the footpaths. Allotment owners have worked hard and their plots are now full of flourishing vegetables. Running dogs can damage these.
