CHITTY Chitty Bang Bang, the car from the famous musical, arrived at a fair in Flackwell Heath last Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds showed up to take part in the Cherry Fair celebrations, opened by Chepping Wycombe Parish Council chairman Peter Wheeler.
Organisers hailed the event as a "great success".
Barbara Grierson, who helped organise the event with David Onslow, was delighted.
"The parade was superb," she said. "There were just so many people lining the street."
Chitty was a big hit with the children, and competition winners Lianne Williams and Christopher Harvey got to ride in the famous car during the parade.
Children were treated to a Punch and Judy show, while parents enjoyed music from the Reading Scottish Pipe Band and a choir. The funds raised will go towards projects to help improve the village.
