PARTY-GOERS have told a court today of the panic which followed the shooting of High Wycombe woman Natasha Derby at a dance.
Young people told a jury at Reading Crown Court how they fled the Multicultural Centre in St Mary's Road, High Wycombe, after hearing the shot in the early hours of September 4.
Clubber Valerie Johnson, from Reading, said: "Suddenly I heard a noise like a glass smashed. The lights went on and people started shouting that someone had been shot.
"I could see a woman lying on the floor. I did not see anyone with a gun. After that everyone was in a rush to get away."
Reading man Dwayne Haughton, 29, is accused of shooting Natasha.
He denies a charge of murder and a second charge of manslaughter. He also denies a charge of possession of ammunition without a certificate.
