I READ in the Marlow Free Press that an organisation called the South East England Development agency is asking Marlow to carry out a "Heath Check".

Should we be touched that this unelected body is concerned about our town's health? Not likely! This is a quango of busy-bodies bribing us with our money! to spend our time doing something which helps to justify their existence. What do they think our townspeople, councillors and local bodies have been doing the last few centuries?

I note that SEEDA has £875, 000 to spend in Bucks on worthy working projects. I suggest that the worthiest project would be to repair our third-world roads.
