Steve Gabb is a regular at the Market Bar & Dining Room in Marlow.
What is the atmosphere like?
It's a far more relaxed place to be. Once it gets around to 9pm it starts to pick up a bit and people come in. I'd say it's quite a well dressed place. You get some people from the Crowne Plaza coming in. There's a good mix of dress codes. Upstairs and downstairs are good either way.
What's your most memorable night?
When I was doing the caterpillar dance. I was having a drink on the dance floor and started doing all the moves even though I can't dance.
Have you made any friends gere?
Yes a couple. Barry (the manager) and a couple of the bar staff are really nice. It's a really good service.
What is it like compared to when it used to be The Crown?
They used to let anybody in here, riff-raff or whatever and it wasn't a nice atmosphere. We used to just sit in one place the whole night. Now it is much more friendly. The DJs get the music going and everything takes off.
What's your favourite drink?
Corona beer or a Bellini.
What's the best night to come in?
Probably Saturday night. It is the best if you to make a whole night of it. Saying that, you can come in on Thursday, have something to eat and have a beer as well. For all the places you have in Marlow, it is just totally different.
What's the best features in the building?
There's an upstairs and downstairs to the place. I like the upstairs because you can sit and relax and talk to people. Downstairs is good as well but is more of a bar area.
Would you change anything about it?
I would like the place could stay open longer. It would mean you don't have to travel down to somewhere like Time nightclub in High Wycombe, you can just stay put. It's a friendly atmosphere and a good mix of people.
