TEACHERS are enjoying a £500 handout at a school in Wooburn Green thanks to a record-breaking summer fete on Saturday, July 9.
The parents association raised more than £4,000 for the teachers at St Paul's Church of England Combined School.
Headteacher Ruth Goddard said: "It was a splendid day and the good weather really helped to pull in the crowds. They raised far more than they expected and the extra cash means a huge treat for the teachers."
Visitors enjoyed tug of war and traditional craft stalls and fair games as well as a barbecue, and Pimms tent. Teachers can spend the money on whatever they want for their classrooms.
