PLANT SALE to raise funds for the Royal British Legion was on a very wet day and in the open, but still managed to raise over £446.
Their next event, which anyone can join, is a sponsored walk on Sunday, starting at the Yew Tree in Beaconsfield Road. You do not need to be a member and sponsorship forms will be available, so why not also take your dog. Please contact Vic Tipping to find out full details on 01753 644831.
New members would also be made very welcome by the British Legion.
VILLAGE SHOW takes place on Sunday, September 11 and show schedules are available now from most local shops and from the library. There are many classes for all the family, and this will be a special show to celebrate 30 years since the flower show was revived, after closing down in the thirties.
THIS EVENING the Conservation Volunteers will be working in Church Meadow with stock fencing and clearance of ragwort and thistle. If you are interested please meet at Church Meadow at 7pm.
Get more information from John Lovelock on 01753 647187.

CHRISTIAN AID was the beneficiary of £1,750 collected locally during a special week in May and thanks go to supporters and collectors alike.
IF YOU LIVE LOCALLY or just have a local connection there is an invitation to become a Friend of St Mary's Church. Their first project is re-leading two of the stained glass windows which are in danger of falling out. For a membership form please phone 01753 643824 or 646926. A donation of only £5 will make you a "Friend" for the year.
