ROALD DAHL Museum and Story Centre opened to great acclaim and in the first three weeks has welcomed an amazing 5,500 visitors through its chocolate doors. This has certainly surpassed expectations. During the summer months there will be various workshops and activities. Young people aged 12-16 years can write comic poetry with stand-up comedian and poet Julian Daniel on Tuesday, August 2 from 2pm to 3.30pm. The cost for this is £6.50 per person to include museum entry. Introduction to Calligraphy for adults is on Wednesday, July 27. All activities must be booked in advance on 01494 892192.

NEW ROTARY PRESIDENT for Great Missenden is Steve Gill, who took over from Gavin Plews at the beginning of the month. In October the club celebrates its 21st birthday.

MEMORIAL HALL is the venue for a trampoline bounce being staged for the Thomas Ball Children Cancer Fund from 3pm tomorrow until Sunday at 3pm. Children, plus teenagers and adults (under 16 stone) are invited to join in and sponsorship forms can be obtained by contacting the fund on 01494 890157.

The trampoline for the event has been kindly donated by The Entertainer Toy Shop in Amersham and will be raffled after the event. Tickets are £1 each.

Local radio station Mix 107 Summer Roadshow will be broadcasting from the Bounce.

Proceeds from the Bounce will go towards funding the purchase of a second holiday property on the coast for sick children to take much needed breaks from hospital treatment and also refurbishing the existing chalet in time for the summer holiday season.

LIGHTHOUSE CLASSICAL Concert performed by the All Souls Langham Place Orchestra will take place on the Buryfield in the Lighthouse marquee on Saturday, July 23 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Barbecue is available or bring a picnic to eat before the concert. Admission is free, but donations will be welcome.
