CHENIES MANOR plays host to a plant and garden fair on Sunday. There will be rare and exceptional plants and trees from specialist nurseries, plus advice for gardeners. Other items include pottery, sculpture, antique garden tools, accessories and books.
A plant crche will be held in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice. To top it off there will be lunch and refreshments throughout the day, plus music and entertainment for children.
Admission to the fair is £4.50 with children under 15 admitted for half price. The house will be open from 2pm to 5pm for an additional cost of £3, although the fair is open from 10am.
SPORTSCOACH, who run the popular weekend sports schools, will be providing a one week summer workshop from Monday to Friday, August 1-5. The workshop is for both boys and girls from age five to 16 years. All abilities will be catered for and a variety of sports will be on offer such as archery, softball and fencing.

AMERSHAM COUNTRY MARKET is the new name given to the Friday morning market at the Free Church hall on Woodside Road. Formally known as the WI Market there is now even more freshly made food available. The market is the ideal place to buy home made cakes and preserves, fruit and vegetables, plants and handcrafted gifts and cards.
The market is open every Friday from 8am until 11.15am.
Tea and coffee is served throughout the morning too and it's the best coffee ever.
BONJANGLES CAF in Hill Avenue runs adult only evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For three hours from 7pm to 10pm you can join in the fun of painting your own piece of pottery. There are lots of items to choose, from simple plates and mugs to more intricate pieces.
As this is adults only, feel free to bring along a bottle of wine and order food while you are there.

GUIDED WALKS through the Old Town take place every Sunday starting out from the Museum at 2.30pm. Each walk takes you round some of the important historical parts of our town for just £1.
On the last Saturday of each month there is an Amersham Martyrs Walk led by guides in 16th century costume. For these walks there is no need to book, just go along on the day. You may like to include a visit to the museum at the same time. The museum is open from 2pm until 4.30pm.
VOLUNTARY ACTION has a wide variety of volunteering opportunities throughout the year. Work can be both inside or outside and most involve working with or helping other people.
An example of some of the recent vacancies include working with an after school club, the home library service, Age Concern and the MS Society. CHORAL SOCIETY for Amersham and Chesham Bois meets regularly for practice and are always on the look out for new members.
