SHOPS, schools and offices across south Buckinghamshire observed a two minute silence at noon today for the victims of last week's London bomb blasts.

Chairman of Wycombe District Council Doug Anson is said: "I hope everybody observes it through the town and across the district.

"We need to link arms and honour those poor people who lost their lives and had their lives shattered.

"This is a tragedy beyond belief."

The council's chairman was due be amongst shoppers today to observe the silence.

He added: "We are fortunate to live in a district where people of all races and religions live together in harmony. We will continue to work to ensure that our cultural and ethnic diversity is preserved and respected and appeal to everyone to ensure that we maintain good relations."
