CHITTY Chitty Bang Bang fever is coming to Flackwell Heath for the resurrection of the Cherry Fair.
The original car used in the popular 1968 Dick Van Dyke film will be leading a procession at 12.30pm through the village for the opening of the fair on Sunday, July 17.
Christopher Harvey of Carrington Junior School and Leanne Williams of Juniper Hill Primary School, Flackwell Heath, have won a colouring competition to ride in the car at the front of the parade.
Flackwell Heath Resident's Association charity has organised the fair to raise money for youth projects.
A spokesman for the charity said: "The fair was last held about 15 years ago. Traditionally it marked the end of the cherry picking season when the entire area was covered in cherry orchards. We hope it will be a very successful community day for the whole family."
Gala dancing, pub tug-of-war, pupil's five-a-side football, swingboats, chair-o-planes, carousels, coconut shys and craft exhibitions are among some of the many attractions on offer.
Flackwell Heath Scouts are organising outdoor children's games and visitors can take part in the grand raffle to win family tickets to see the stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium.
Organisers are expecting around 1,500 visitors and are hoping for good weather.
