A JILTED lover was found drenched in blood after he broke into his ex-girlfriend's house following a series of rows.

Scott Wraight, of Shepherds Close, Beaconsfield, forced open the door of Emma Gutteridge's home after sending her a stream of abusive text messages.

Wraight, 36, then downed a bottle of wine as he attempted to contact his former partner who was staying at her parents at the time of the incident.

Police arrived at Miss Gutteridge's home, in Flackwell Heath, and found Wraight saturated in his own blood and with a number of "significant cuts" to his arms.

Wycombe Magistrates' heard last Monday how the couple had endured a tempestuous relationship and were always going through difficulties.

David Hicks, defending, told the court that a number of visits by the victim to Wraight's house in the weeks leading up to the incident had left him very emotional.

He said: "Unfortunately for Mr Wraight, he hadn't slept for seven days and seven nights.

"He had worked himself into such a state that he went to the aggrieved's address."

According to Mr Hicks, Wraight applied pressure to the door, which had a long-standing crack in the window, and it broke.

"He Wraight went inside to try and phone his girlfriend," added Mr Hicks.

"The police were called.

"He consumed a bottle of wine that was in the kitchen and police described seeing him covered from head to foot in his own blood."

"He can't really explain that but says his mind had gone at that point.

"He had no intention of hurting anyone."

Wraight pleaded guilty to a charge of destroying the window.

He also pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while disqualified.

Magistrates delayed sentencing Mr Wraight for three weeks to await further reports.
