PARISHIONERS of Holy Trinity and St Mary's Great Hampden said their farewells last weekend to the Rev Paul Smith, who is leaving the parishes to take up the position of Priest in Charge at St Albans Church, East Leigh near Havant.
Following his final services at both churches a large number of people gathered in the vicarage garden for lunch, after which Paul was presented with gifts, including a dining table and set of chairs, for his new home, and a cheque. As I have only recently come to Prestwood, I do not know Paul very well, but it was obvious from the tributes paid to him that he has been a very popular member of the clergy team and will be much missed. We all wish him good luck for the future.
