BUSY WEEKEND at Curzon Combined School with a mufti day today followed by the annual summer fair tomorrow. The fair is from midday until 3pm. If the weather holds it should be a great day for all the family. I am told the highlight of the fair maybe "The Reptile Road Show".
OPEN GARDENS this weekend to raise money for the Iain Rennie Hospice feature Paul and Mary Hunnings who are opening their garden at Watercroft in Church Road, Penn from 2pm until 5.30pm. You will be able to get tea and cake as you view their lovely garden. In Penn Street the garden at Flint Cottage will be open from 2pm until 6pm. I believe that the entrance fee is £3 for each garden.

CRICKET and another good win for the first eleven on Saturday with a comfortable victory over local rivals Coleshill. Batting first it was another magnificent innings from Peter Harold which was the basis of a big total. Peter's 155 was supported by Toby Radford 81 as Penn reached 285 for 4. Coleshill were never in touch and were dismissed for 164.
The second eleven were thwarted in their search for a much needed victory at Great Kingshill. J Smith 88 and C Smith 67 helped set up a daunting 300 for 4, Great Kingshill held out for the draw finishing on 221 for 7.
On Monday the club, who are the holders, were knocked out of the Chilterns League Knock Out Cup by Little Kingshill.
