WATCH OUT for road closures tomorrow afternoon. Fulmer Day has come around again and the village will be sealed off throughout the afternoon. A celebrity, as yet unannounced, will get the afternoon off to its usual rousing start.

Among the attractions are martial arts displays, Japanese dancing, plate smashing and much more.

FUNERAL took place last Friday of Nora Kay who lived in Ethorpe Crescent for so many years. She was 91 and had been a member of the Community Association for more than 50 years. In her early days she designed and produced all the publicity material promoting the East Common centre. The logo she produced is still in use today.

CELEBRATING his 75th birthday, Andre Previn will be at the piano on Sunday evening and his appearance has tempted the concert-goers group to travel to the Barbican for their last get-together before the summer recess. Accompanied by the LSO Chamber Ensemble, Mr Previn will perform one of his own works, trio for piano, oboe and bassoon, as well as Poulenc's sextet and Brahms piano quintet.

NO 10am SERVICE at All Saints in Oval Way on Sunday as the congregation will be attending the Feast of St Peter celebrations at Chalfont St Peter parish church. There is a family Eucharist at 10am and Songs of Praise at 6.30pm.

COMMITTEE MEMBER Ian Barber will talk about "Networking", the number one key to job search success, when he addresses the Careers Springboard group on Monday evening. The group, which helps managers and professionals seeking work, gets together at 8pm in St Andrews Church, Packhorse Road.

JOHN BILLINGHAM and Graham Marsh join forces to present The Andre Rice Orchestra on the big screen to the New Horizons group at the Oak End Way Methodist Church on Thursday at 2.30pm.

JUMBLE is already piling up at the Memorial Centre for the mammoth sale in September. Due to legislation, this year the Community Association is unable to accept furniture or electrical goods other than stereos and radios. If you are having a summer clearout, key to the jumble storage hut is kept at reception.

COMMUNITY SERVICE is being held at St James, Fulmer on Sunday at 11.15am.

HOUSE-TO-HOUSE collections throughout the village will be made the week commencing July 4 to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief. The flag day will be held on Saturday, July 9. Tin rattlers are needed on both occasions spare a little time please ring 01753 883573.
