DETECTIVES are still appealing for witnesses following the shooting of a man in High Wycombe earlier this month.
The man, who is in his mid-20s, remains in a critical, but stable condition in the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford.
Detective Chief Inspec-tor Karen Trego, of High Wycombe CID, said: "Some items have been sent for forensic tests and we await these results.
"Inquiries are ongoing and we are still seeking witnesses to this incident, in particular any young people who may have been in the area around the time it happened."
He added: "As well as anyone who may have seen the incident in Arnison Avenue, we are keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen a blue Ford Mondeo, registration K48 PRV, being driven in the High Wycombe area that day or the early hours of the following morning.
"Even if you did not think what you saw was significant at the time you could have information that is vital to the police investigation."
Police were called to Arnison Avenue, on Saturday, June 4 around 11.30pm after the victim was shot in the street opposite the Happy Wanderer pub, and then run over.
On Friday, June 10, officers handed out 1,500 leaflets and quizzed pedestrians and passing motorists in Bowerdean, and later in the town centre, as the investigation intensified.
Sector Inspector, Chris Oliver said: "These two events were well received by members of the public who were pleased to see us working together providing reassurance and information on the two unconnected incidents that have occurred in this area.
"We continue our close liaison, and work with the local community members and partner organisations from the voluntary and statutory sector, in order to reassure our community and continue the appeals for witnesses."
Two men, one aged 23 and one 32, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder earlier this month, in relation to the incident which took place in Arnison Avenue have been released on police bail until mid-July.
Witnesses and anyone with information that could help in the police investigation can call Wycombe CID on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
