A HIGH flying air cadet from High Wycombe climbed to the top of the winners' podium three times at a recent RAF athletics meet.
Bethany Twitchen, 14, of Baring Road, took home three golds, a silver and a bronze medal from the national competition held at RAF Cosford in Shropshire.
She has been an active member of the 322 High Wycombe squadron at the Daws Hill base for two years and wants to become a physical trainer in the air force when she leaves school.
Bethany said: "I have been in the cadets for almost two years, I go on camp every summer and also do flying and lots of sports with them. It is very enjoyable."
Her 70-year-old grandfather, Clive, is pleased as punch by Bethany's achievements on the track.
He said: "I am so pleased for her, it is quite an achievement. All her family are very, very proud."
Bethany won gold in three separate 400m races, a silver in the 100m and bronze in the 1500m race.
