LOCAL charities are still on the hunt for extra help in 2005 the year of the volunteer.
Wycombe District Council supported group Volunteer Focus, based in Priory Road, High Wycombe, is hoping to encourage more people to come forward to help charity organisations such as Age Concern and Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
Age Concern is looking for volunteers to help older people complete benefit forms, and Iain Rennie is looking for additional help with many events arranged to celebrate the charity's 21st anniversary.
The Swan Theatre in High Wycombe currently has a team of volunteers who help people to their seats and sell programmes, and would like to train more people to join the crew.
Buckinghamshire Carers need people who can befriend young carers of relatives, and would enjoy socialising with them.
The Bucks Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted is also looking for people to spend a few hours helping their cause.
To help any of these charities as part of the year of the volunteer, contact Volunteer Focus on 01494 451700.
