A COLLECTION of rare trees unique to the Chilterns attracted crowds of enthusiasts during a recent open day.
The Priestfield Arboretum, in Little Kingshill, is a secret garden of foreign and native delights managed by volunteers, the Friends of Priestfield.
The group, which has been nurturing a variety of species at the small woodland for 21 years, opens up the centre for one day every year.
Volunteer Barbara Rippington said: "The arboretum is owned by local residents, but managed by a small group of volunteers. This collection of rare and specimen trees from all over the world, including several examples of endangered species, is widely acknowledged as the finest in the Chilterns."
The open day, on June 12, proved a real hit as dozens visited the Stony Lane woodland.
