YOUNG gardeners received some top tips on how to grow their flowers from a familiar face in Marlow.
Marlow Mayor, Cllr Roger Wilson, turned up at several primary schools to talk to children about the forthcoming Marlow in Bloom competition, staged by the town council.
Cllr Wilson visited St Peter's Catholic school in Prospect Road on Monday, June 13, and had a brief chat with pupils before dishing out the flower seeds, which were Marigolds.
The children have to grow their flowers in a novelty container alongside other plants and the best display will win a prize. The gongs will be handed out in August and will be decided by the town council.
Cllr Wilson said: "It is a way of getting young people involved in making the town a more colourful place."
