POLICING in Marlow is set to get a shake-up in a bid to bring communities closer to officers, the Marlow Community Forum heard.
David Watson, who sits on the town's chamber of trade seat for police and security, was telling members of the new Neighbourhood Action Groups (NAGS) which are set to be introduced to communities in Spring next year.
Mr Watson said the new system would bring a radical shake-up to the way communities are policed and would mean more local views are brought to the attention of officers.
NAGS, would literally involve turning the policing system "upside down", Mr Watson said, making residents the "most important people" in the fight against crime.
The system will see officers meet residents on a regular basis.
