TRADERS took to the stands when the farmers' market returned to High Wycombe. Four months after organisers cancelled the event due to dwindling interest, the market pitched in Frogmoor "bigger and better than before".
The new and improved monthly venture boasts an array of new traders from across south Buckinghamshire, as well as new enthusiastic backers.
Shelly Ford, town centre manager, said she was delighted that farmers had returned to the town to trade, spelling the end of months of work.
"Bringing the farmers' market back to High Wycombe is something that I have been working on for months," she said.
"I was really impressed with the turnout. Traders were happy. We are hoping it's going to get better and better and we get the support it deserves."
Previous organisers pulled the plug in February after stall numbers dropped from 23 to two, with traders struggling to meet increased running costs.
Stalls on show were laden with fresh meats, breads, fruits and vegetables, while other traders showed off delights such as pottery and plants.
Suzie Crafer, manager of Thames Valley Farmers' Market Co-operative Limited, said: "It's really a great feeling to be back. It's a relaunch and you have to give these things time to build up, but things look promising."
The farmers market takes place every second Wednesday, the next being July 13.
