HOW TO GROW GREAT HUMANS for the future. I have attended a number of AGM's recently where lots of young people are involved. I have been positively amazed and stunned at the array of skills these young people show in the challenges they have been set.
I believe most parents want their children to grow up to be decent, honest, kind, thoughtful, helpful and happy adults. The achievements of the young people I have seen are good indicators of that ambition.
If you want to see your children develop well my suggestion is that they should join one of these wonderful organisations. Your children will grow in confidence and be the person that they want to be. I can only speak for those groups that I know personally and they include Scouts, Girl Guides, Red Cross and St John's Ambulance. The achievement levels within these organisations should put some of our large companies on their guard.
The young people I have seen and met over the past few months are an inspiration and a shining example. All too often we do not sing their praises as we are too busy concentrating on the other elements of youthful behaviour.
PLEASE REMEMBER, tomorrow is Trevor's Day at Amersham and Wycome College in Lycrome Road from 1pm to 6pm.
I look forward to seeing you there and I know Trevor is very excited by the event and the interest it has attracted. Don't forget your sunscreen.
