WOOBURN GREEN is the place to be tomorrow afternoon when The Meadows have their annual Summer Fete. Children will be the star attractions in the arena with dancing and gymnastics displays. Lively music will entertain and keep your toes tapping while you wander around the stalls, enjoy a burger or a cuppa and then try your hand at the many competitions and games. You won't be able to miss the attraction because the fete fills the green and the colourful fairground carousel is a regular eye-catcher. From 1pm until 5pm you should be with everyone on Wooburn Green to enjoy a great afternoon.
FABULOUS SINGING tomorrow evening in St Mark's Church comes courtesy of the Wycombe Orpheus Male Voice Choir at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 or £6.50 for concessions. Tickets are still available so call into Crocks and Crystal on The Parade or give June Grierson a ring on 01628 528497.
PRAYERS & BEARS takes place in St Mark's Church on Tuesday at 9.30am. Teddies are the special guests as the Rev Ann Trew always brings her teddy along to join the children and their mums for a story, a song and a warm social occasion in the church.

HIGHLY TALENTED artistically Edwin Clark was a delightful man to know and his death last week will sadden many people.
Ed with his wife Edna had been a part of Bourne End life for many years. After a period of illness Ed died just days short of his 90th birthday.
His lovely watercolours of landmarks around Bourne End and Wooburn Green are a real delight and my own one of Hedsor Towers is very special. Ed was highly talented but very unassuming. He liked to be involved and was a member of the residents association since its formation.
Ed was fair minded but always concerned about the environment and the need to preserve the rural landscape, while understanding the need for progress.
Our sympathy to Edna and the family at their loss.
