TELEVISION presenter Esther Rantzen visited Hearing Dogs for Deaf People headquarters in Saunderton last Thursday to present awards to volunteers and dogs from the charity.
The Desmond Wilcox Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Heather Shute, a lady from Oxfordshire, who has given 15 years of voluntary service to the charity.
Jenny Moir, from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said: "We had a lovely day with lots of people and lots of dogs. Everybody enjoyed themselves."
The Hearing Dogs of the Year were also announced, with all three winning dogs originating from the Saunderton centre.
Bentley, a terrier cross labrador, now living in Bournemouth, was named Heroic Dog of the Year after alerting people to help his owner who was choking.
Meanwhile Eva, a three-year-old mongrel, was crowned Rescue Hearing Dog of the Year.
Drake, a seven year-old Labrador, now living in Brighton, was named Life-Changing Dog of the Year for helping his owner gain the confidence to do a university degree and a masters.
