IF your bus driver seems to be a bit more congenial than usual, it could be that he or she is angling for a new award.
Arriva Buses has introduced the "Bus Driver Idol 2005" initiative, aiming to find the best bus driver in the company's Shires and Essex region, including South Bucks.
David Shadbolt, marketing manager for Arriva, said: "We are looking forward to hearing the views of our customers and finding out why they think their favourite driver deserves the recognition.
"It could be for any reason, from their helpful manner, to their cheery smile."
The contest is open to all Arriva drivers in High Wycombe.
They will first have to be nominated by a member of the public, and will then be assessed on feedback given by Arriva customers.
The winner of the Bus Driver Idol award will receive a cash award and a trophy for their public spirited efforts.
To nominate a driver, telephone the Bus Driver Idol hotline on 0121 3624016.
