HELICOPTER pilots thrilled Princes Risborough Primary School children by landing their chopper in the school's playing field.
The red helicopter was hired by the staff from Heli-Wise Ltd to take aerial photographs of the school. They then dropped in to talk to the pupils about the mechanics of the aircraft.
Sally Whitlow, headteacher at the school in Wellington Avenue, said: "The helicopter flew over the school and the children were all in one of the fields making the shape of the letters PRPS so the helicopter knew where to land."
The pilots were on hand to answer any questions the children had about flying a helicopter and each class then had their picture taken with the chopper in the background.
Mrs Whitlow added: "The children had a really good day and it was amazing to see how quickly some of the children grasped the workings of a helicopter.
"The models and writing the children have done about it has been excellent.
"The novelty value was great and none of them can stop talking about it."
