MOST people may have seen Disney's version of the Rudyard Kipling classic but now the Birmingham Stage Company bring their own interpretation of The Jungle Book to the stage.
Set in an Indian Jungle, Stuart Peterson's stage adaptation of the 19th century classic re-tells the story of Mowgli (played by John Cockerill), a young boy who is raised in the jungle by a family of wolves.
Shere Khan (Mark Carlisle) vows to kill the boy but Bagheera (Alex De Marcus) and Baloo (Tony Jayawardena) save him by taking him to a man village for his own safety.
This stage adaptation follows Mowgli's adventures with his friends to the Wycombe Swan from June 14 to 18 following its success in the West End.
The Birmingham Stage Company gives this production its unique touch following on from its success with James and the Giant Peach, George's Marvellous Medicine and last year's record-breaker, Tom's Midnight Garden.
Jungle Book is at Wycombe Swan June 14-18. Tickets 01494 512000
