Murder shock THURSDAY morning is shopping time for my wife and I in High Wycombe. We tend to follow a similar routine each week, but regretfully one part of the pattern has come to an end.
We would very often run into someone whom I worked with for a long period and have known for more than 30 years.
The conversation was invariably centred around our old work-place or football and his favourite team Aston Villa.
There will be no more such meetings because the person we met so regularly has died in tragic circumstances.
His name was Alan Irwing, who was murdered and found at his home in Underwood Road, High Wycombe, on May 19.
It is very hard to come to terms with the fact that such a quiet unassuming man as Alan should die in such a violent way.
Many retired people in High Wycombe will regard Alan's murder as quite the most shocking local incident to have occurred in their entire lives.
