THE FUTURE of the Schools of Chesham Carnival to be held on June 18, seems to be financially secure at least for the time being, as Chesham Rugby Union Football Club will also back the carnival next year.

Next year is the 25th anniversary of the rugby club who are based at Chesham Park Community College in Chartridge Lane. The club started playing their home games at Marston Field in Pond Park. The club have proposed to raise at least £1,000 in 2006 for the carnival.

The carnival is always a great success and a family fun day for Chesham.

TWO YOUNG LADIES from Chesham are holding a concert to raise funds to get them through university. Vannessa Bowers has been accepted at The Royal Academy of Music in London and Claire Graham is to study music at Birmingham Conservatoire in September. They will be putting on a concert at the Little Missenden Village Hall in London Road on Saturday, June 18 at 7.30pm.
