TOMORROW from 10am you can enjoy a traditional village fete around the Community Centre. Lots of stalls, games for the children, rides, refreshments and breakfast with bacon rolls and burgers. It's sure to be great fun for all the family and you'll find your toes tapping to the sound of the Denny Ilett Jazz All Stars who will be playing through into the afternoon.
FAMILY HISTORY enthusiasts will find out more about bigamy on Tuesday evening in the small hall at the Community Centre. "John Dickton's widow" is the title of a talk by Peter Park on the effect that illegal marriages had on Bucks social history.
The talk starts at 7.45pm and visitors are welcome with a donation to funds. Coffee is served afterwards and the bookshop will be available.
HAVE YOU STRUGGLED along the pathway between the car park and Brent Road? The hedge is very overgrown and Bucks County Council have received lots of calls about the problem. No response so far and the suggestion is that people should keep ringing Highways On Call at 0845 2302882 and report it.
STILL TIME to consider becoming a parish councillor as there are two vacancies on offer.
A number of people have expressed an interest by writing in or telephoning. They have been requested to send their details, with reasons why they would like to become a parish councillor, and then attend a parish council meeting. The closing date for applications is June 24 so you still have time to contact 01628 522827 and get all the information.
The two positions will be filled by co-option and this has been agreed by Wycombe District Council as there has been no request from the electorate for an election.
SUNDAY in Wooburn Park will be a great family day. The athletic ones will be competing in the 10k run, while there's a fun run in the park for the younger members of the family, along with competitions and games.
To keep the inner man, or woman, happy there will be a barbecue and bar.
The event is run by Wooburn Park Sports Association and you'll find all the information on their website at www.wooburnpsa.org.uk ALASKA will be offering very special river trips on Sunday, June 19, from midday to 5pm.
